Arlington, VA—National Capitol Wing Chaplain Lt Col John Hoffmann, CAP, represented Civil Air Patrol on Sunday, November 11, at the annual National Veterans Day Ceremony held at Arlington National Cemetery.
Westminster, MD—Members of the Carroll Composite Squadron assisted the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) with their annual fly-in during the weekend, along with conducting orientation flights for cadet members. World War II aircraft were on display during the weekend along with experimental aircrafts of every kind.
River Hill, MD—Members of the Howard Composite participated in a field training exercise in early November. The weekend event trained members for future emergency services missions.
Maxwell AFB, AL—Col. Henry "Ed" Phipps of Cockeysville, died Nov. 9. He was 93. Phipps joined CAP on the first day the organization was formed on Dec. 1, 1941. He flew subchaser missions out of Coastal Patrol Base 2 in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
California, MD—St. Mary’s Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol cadets Peter C. Webster, Andrew J. Svecz, and Ryan C. DeGruy were recognized for the completion of a major cadet program milestone during a recent weekly squadron meeting.
